Fourthcore PbP and Eyrie of the Sorrow Nimbus

Been having the time of my D&D life playing in MilwaukeeJoe's Grind4e play-by-post games.  We just finished up C1: Crucible of the gods, a fourthcore adventure by SVD Press.  I survived all the way until the second to last round, literally.  Then I was smote by the Ruach, exarch of the gods.  Very soon after, the divine flame went out, and the world was drown for our failure...

On top of that, I played in the first PbP game of C Steven Ross's Lost Crown of Tesh-Naga.  Its a PvP adventure, and I grabbed the crown during the endgame, but was AGAIN smote by the trap protecting it.  Double PC Death within 48 hours.  Worth every second!

Now, the main point to this entry was really to mention that I'm putting together my own fourthcore adventure.  I'm loving the difficulty level, the no-nonsense damage output, and the pacing for the few games I've played in.  So, as my DM-nature is taking over, I wanted to take a stab at an adventure myself.  Right now, just in the research phase.  But I like to give myself deadlines.  So, I plan on finishing up a workable draft of "Eyrie of the Sorrow Nimbus", by June 30th.

Not that anyone will be seeing this, of course.  I have no followers.  Boo whoo whoo!  EotSN revolves around the fact that mortals spend too much time worshiping and groveling to their harsh deities, whom they directly impower, while neglecting the primal spirits who anchor the natural world and were powerful enough to banish the deities and primordials back to the astral and elemental planes, respectively.  I got the idea while reading through "White Plume Mountain", the Eyrie described within "Game of thrones", and a hilarious conversation on twitter about Winnie the Pooh's "I'm just a little black rain cloud".  It got stuck in my head, so there may be some references to it coming...

In conclusion, end of june, I'll be looking for some playtesters.  The buddies may have to do.  God have mercy on their souls...

Exposition

Dear all,
Not that I plan on being a profilic blogger or am setting out to change the internet or radically change your view on D&D, but I hope you find some use for my point of view and what I post here.  This blog and its theme has replaced my personal/too lazy to keep updating blog following my non-finished D&D 4e campaign, where I took a group of my close friends from level 1 to 30 over the course of 3+ years.  We met approximately every other weekend, for 6-8 hours, and while it was sometimes exhausting or great, I a very proud that we finished up the campaign (even though my players failed the last big quest, leaving a huge opening for me to exploit next time).  I have since been on DM sabbatical, and playing in multiple play-by-post games and being a contributor on Fouthcore Team Deathmatch, which has really been an eye-opener for me in terms of character design/encounter layout, and fourthcore ideals.
Speaking of fourthcore ideals, today marks the anniversary of Revenge of the Iron Lich being unleashed upon the masses, and while I still haven't had a chance to play the module, How people talk about it has really inspired me to want to explore the limits of the 4e.  Since learning of the movement and researching the modules, I have taken it upon myself to add bits and pieces into my games whenever I can.
But I digress.  This blog will be my depository of encounter ideas (main posts), new monsters (Bestiary of Ctron), and character ideas I will probably never get a chance to play (Hello my name is...).
